Dr. Yanliang Zhang is the Chief Scientist at Weston Robot, where he oversees the company's productization strategy, driving the transformation of innovative ideas into market-ready robotic solutions. Prior to this role, Dr. Zhang served as the dean of a prestigious robotics college in Asia and managed a significant investment fund of USD 40 million dedicated to fostering robotics startups. His extensive industry experience includes leading the global product and industrial strategy for robotics at MathWorks in Boston between 2011 and 2015.

In addition to his industrial leadership, Dr. Zhang is deeply involved in academia. He is an adjunct associate professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has held adjunct faculty positions at the Singapore Institute of Technology and Nanyang Technological University. His academic roles reflect his commitment to sharing his expertise and nurturing the next generation of robotics engineers and innovators.

Dr. Zhang completed his Ph.D. in Robotics and his Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in 2010 and 2006, respectively. He continued his research with a postdoctoral stint at the University of Toronto in Canada from 2010 to 2011. His active participation in robotics competitions like RoboCup, RoboCon, and RoboMaster showcases his dedication to the field. Additionally, Dr. Zhang plays a crucial role as chief scientist at several robotics startups, highlighting his significant influence in the robotics industry.
